New iPhone

Yep, it’s official, my new iPhone has arrived and is awesome!  So far it’s like having a mini PC in your hand.  I really like the built in ipod of which I’ve never had before.  Being able to have my photos, videos, podcasts, music and more always with me is a great convenience.   I also especially like the internet browser and mail client.

Getting an iPhone is more affordable than you may think.  I bought mine for $99 as a refurbished unit.  To get that price you have to sign a 2 year contract.  The cheapest service plan is $69/month which gives you 450 anytime minutes, 5000 weekend and night minutes and unlimited data.  Unused anytime minutes rollover to the next month.  Cool.

Dave,

Hope you like your iphone with AT&T. I was with AT&T for 10 yrs before switching to Verizon. AT&T had gotten progressively worse customer service over the years and I finally go to the point I paid the cancellation fee to abort the punishment. If a Spring representative calls you for service or to offer any upgrades hang up immediately. I took them to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) with a complaint and finally won my case. Just a word to the wise.

To get the Refurbished prices you have to go to AT&T’s website.

Dave,

I’m proud of you.
On behalf of Steve, Welcome to Apple.
Now let’s get developing some iPhone apps.

I don’t have an iPhone myself. I REFUSE to give any more money to AT&T for the reasons mentioned by Kathy. I had a real bad experience 10 years ago.

Apple working with AT&T is worse than working with Mi¢ro$oft. If I get one, It’ll be to develop iPhone apps, not for talking. I may just get an iPod touch.
I’ve been VERY patient. We’ll see.
