Want to know what people are saying about your business?  How about keeping tabs on your competitors or just following a topic of interest?  With Google Alerts you can specify a search term and Google will listen for references to it on the web, news, blogs, video and Google groups.  When it finds a match it will email a link to you immediately or in a daily or weekly report.  You can also have your alerts delivered as an RSS Feed.  Give it a try.

Some handy uses of Google Alerts include:

  • monitoring a developing news story
  • keeping current on a competitor or industry
  • getting the latest on a celebrity or event
